Paging Dr. Morgan

My husband has to work on Christmas but he's had the past couple of days off. He's enjoyed spending time with the boys while they're on Christmas break. And although I'm grateful to have a full house during the holidays I've learned something about myself: 5, 7 and 33 year old males in the house at one time is more testosterone than I can handle. But with a little help from Dr. Morgan (or is it Captain Pepper?) I'm able to hang on to my sanity.

I not only want to thank Dr. Morgan this Christmas Eve, I also want to thank a couple of great bloggers for giving me awards!

Thank you to AmericanTribal for this lovely award! Be sure to check out her blog--especially on Saturdays;) Talk about eye candy for cupcake fanatics!

Thank you Dawna from A Kiss and a Peck for this award! Dawna has a contest going on right now and you could be the proud owner of some Lady Anti-Monkey Butt Powder! You know, if you have a problem with that sort of thing.

Thank you ladies and Merry Christmas Eve everyone!

Howard's Turn

Okay, so you know that picture I posted a couple of weeks ago of Lexie the Husky pooping in the yard? Don't worry, I'm not going to link to it. Well, I haven't been able to stop thinking about it. That was a new low for this blog and I'm sorry. Very tasteless. It won't happen again. Promise. Now that I got that off my chest and my conscience is clear, I have good news...I got an award from a couple of fantastic bloggers!

Why--I'll never know, but I'm extremely grateful to Beth, The Confused Homemaker. She has 4 kids which means she's twice as confused as I am. Poor Beth:) And many thanks to R. Wallis at True Beauty Inside and Out. Check out her blog--I don't think she has ever posted a picture of her dog relieving herself in the yard but she does put ketchup on tacos, ewwww!
Speaking of ewwww...

Ooops, that one kind of just slipped in here. Sorry about that one, too:)

Thank You!

Wow--yesterday was some day! I had waited 6 long months to be featured over at SITS but it is well worth the wait. I'm still reading through all the wonderful comments and I'm sure it will take me 6 months to repay the visit but I will and I look forward to it! And since I'm still on an ego trip I'm going to post some awards I have received recently from some of my favorite bloggers.

These 2 awards are from Mrs. Cooper over at HangingWithMrs.Cooper.

This one is from Dawna at A Kiss And A Peck. I'm honored to be on her blog crush list!
Two fabulous bloggers gave me this award. Tracey from Aloha Monkeys, and Brandi from The Life of a New Mommy .

This one is from Heather at Mrs. Southern Bride. Love the music on her blog!
Isn't this cute? It's from Jen at Another Online Mom . Also known as the famous actress from the Trade Marker tape measure commercial!

Thank you ladies!

Confessions And Stuff

Remember my post about poke salad? I had a very mild panic attack after fixing it for dinner. I was positive that I was going to drop dead from eating pokeweeds from the backyard and I begged my husband not to go to the boxing gym that night. He wasn't too sympathetic, though, so I gathered up the young 'uns and went with him. And I survived!

Oh, and remember when I told Little pup to never, ever let me leave the house wearing a Hooters t-shirt? I was wearing a Captain Morgan t-shirt at the time. That's okay isn't it?

And you know how I only posted 3 times last week? Well, I only read about 3 of your posts, too:( My sister was visiting and I didn't get anything done last week. But I'm looking forward to catching up with everyone this week!

And I totally don't deserve these awards but...

...look what I got! Thank you Whitney from Whitney Inspired! She recently posted a picture of her studying at the college library--take a look. Wow, does that ever bring back memories---minus the laptop. And...
...Brandi from The Life of a Small Town Girl gave me this award, thank you Brandi! She's an Alabama girl but everytime I see her in that hat I just pretend that 'A' is for Arkansas. And...

...Rae Ann from Critical Mass gave me the zombie chicken award! How cool is that?! Thanks Rae Ann! I'm still 'awwwwing' over the cuteness of her Easter post. Don't look if you can't handle cute bunnies, kitties, and puppies. I mean it--that fourth pic is lethal.
Thank you all for thinking of me!

A Milestone

It's my 400th post! Is anyone getting tired of reading this drivel yet? Don't answer that! I need to send out a thank you today to 2 terrific bloggers who took the time to send me a couple of awards.

Sara from Ordinary And Awesome created this award and thought I was extraordinary enough to pass it along to me--thank you Sara! Sara lives in Arkansas, like me, and has some seriously cute furbabies, like me, and she also has the lowdown on the dude in the free credit report commercial--if you are interested, like me!

Janet from The Jumbled Thoughts of Janet sent me this award--thank you Janet! Now, pull yourself away from Facebook and start posting again, missy!

I love getting awards--thank you ladies!

No, You Are Awesome!

If you are a blogger that has a policy of not accepting awards then you are missing out! I'm awful about passing them on but I LOVE getting them!

First off, I want to than Janel at Dandelion Dayz for this wonderful friendship award. And if you have a minute, you must read what Janel's husband did to their daughter's door after she had slammed it one too many times!

I also want to thank the fabulous Michelle for this fabulous award! I think Michelle has one of the best blog names in the blogosphere: There Must Be More To Life Than Dishes And Laundry. Isn't that great?!

Next I want to thank Jamey at Walking By Faith for these 3 awards. Jamey holds a very special place in my little bloggy heart because she is a NASCAR fan like me and even got to drive one of the driver intro trucks around a lap at Sonoma!

This isn't an award but I want to mention it anyway because today it IS all about me! Jay and Deb have put together a thing where bloggers write a tribute to something or somebody every Tuesday. And Catherine from Evolving Mommy wrote a tribute to me! And then I blubbered like a baby to my husband and he mentioned how it was a lovely post but he's only cried one time in his entire adult life when his grandpa died and I asked him how many times did he think that I've cried. Well, seeing as how I get weepy at Onstar commercials, he didn't even want to do the math for fear that his brain would explode. What I'm trying to say is that I'm so grateful for that tribute that I'm going to stumble every single recipe that Catherine posts on her blog. It's the least I can do! Thank you Catherine!

Honestly!

It's the Honest Scrap award! I got this award from 2 wonderful bloggers: Keri at It Flickers Dimly and Michelle at There Must Be More To Life Than Dishes And Laundry. Thanks! I'm supposed to list 10 honest scraps of info about myself. Well, so far I'm up to 18 on my "about me" page and here's 10 more.

1. While driving, I'm often struck by how many white vehicles there are out there. Is that weird? Don't answer that!

2. Yesterday at a baby shower (Hi Elaine!), I was mistaken for the guest of honor who is almost 8 months pregnant. That's not good. I guess I need to get back on the treadmill, huh?

3. In high school I was voted most quiet and most studious. If that doesn't say nerd, I don't know what does.

4. Also in high school, I donated blood one day and 2 hours later I passed out in human physiology class. It was the first and last time I gave blood.

5. In the late '90s I was a huge wrestling fan and went to see a WCW show in Little Rock.

6. I don't understand how "Jack" is a nickname for "John."

7. I used to collect Barbie Dolls.

8. I haven't had a panic attack since October of 2007! The closest I have come since then was when traffic was backed up and I was stuck on an overpass. I could feel it move. And then my heart rate shot up and I had an overwhelming sense of dread. But that was it. It just fizzled out. I have no idea why but I'm glad those days seem to be over.

9. No matter how cold it is, I have to sleep with the ceiling fan on.

10. When I was in my early 20's I was kind of a fuddy duddy. I was very conservative and idealistic but as I've gotten older I've become much more liberal. It takes all kinds of people to make the world go around and what an interesting world it is when we're not all the same.

But wait! I have one more! This is from my good buddy Kat at Sassy Irish Lassie. It's the Premio Dardos award which acknowledges the values that every blogger shows in his/her effort to transmit cultural, ethical, literary and personal values every day. That's not something a fuddy duddy would do is it? Because it's no fun being a fuddy duddy. Thanks Kat!

Can't Trust That Day

It's Monday. Two down and 50 to go. It's also the beginning of Armageddon Week on the History Channel. A doom and gloom week filled with all kinds of different ways humans could die at the hands of nature and the universe. Those shows always send me into a panic mode where I must have chickens! goats! immediately! And I start planning on converting one of the bedrooms into a pantry full of canned goods. But then I watch The Office and 30 Rock and I'm all Imminent Ice Age? What Imminent Ice Age?

But I have good news! A bright spot in my day! Two of my favorite bloggers have awarded me the Lemonade Award for showing great attitude and/or gratitude. Many, many thanks to Kat from SassyIrishLassie who has an excellent photo definition for the word "hope" and a big thank you to Jen from Another Online Mom who is posting everyday this month about tried and true beauty products and tips. Thank you both!

More Than Like

Several weeks ago when Janet gave me the 'I'm Lovin' Your Blog' award, I was supposed to have posted 5 things that I love. But I didn't. Because I'm a rebellious rule breaker, remember? Oh, and I'm lazy. That may have had something to do with it too. So without further ado, here is a list of 5 things that I love.

I don't drink much soda but when I do it's a Dr. Pepper. But make it caffeine free please otherwise I will be up until 2 a.m.

When I'm not reading novels set in Afghanistan or China or Forks, WA (yes, I've hopped on the Twilight bandwagon), I love reading a good bodice ripper.

I can't start my day without a hot cup of Tazo's Zen tea. It's green tea with a hint of lemon and mint and actually, I end up drinking about 4 cups throughout the day.

I love watching whole seasons of tv shows on dvd. I recently watched 3 years worth of Arrested Development in just one month. Right now, WD and I are making our way through The Shield.

(photo from imdb)
I loved watching Josh Bernstein on the History channel's Digging For The Truth. I love watching Josh Bernstein on the Discovery channel's Into The Unknown. I would even love watching Josh Bernstein read the minutes from the subcommittee hearing on how offshore entities dodge taxes on U.S. stock dividends.

I'm Not Worthy!

I love getting awards from other bloggers! But I never follow the rules. I'm sort of a rebel I guess. A rebel that also cleans up the table at restaurants and organizes shopping carts in cart corrals. That kind of rebel. Please take a minute today to visit the blogs of these wonderful bloggers!

The Top Commenter Award and the Superior Scribbler Award are from Kristen at La Dolce Vita. Have you bought any of her awesome jewelry yet?

The Smile Award is from Lori at I'm No Super Mom But I'm Loving It! Lori recently posted a picture of her son sitting in the dishwasher when he was a baby. Is this a boy thing? I've got a few pictures like that.

The I'm Lovin' Your Blog Award is from Janet from The Jumbled Thoughts Of Janet. Another Peppermint Mocha lover in the house!

The Hot Blog Award is from LeAnn at Tollesons4Him. LeAnn is one of my very first blog friends and never fails to leave me comment that brightens my day.

The Butterfly Award is from Kat at Sassy Irish Lassie . Kat is the only blogger that has allowed me to guest post on her blog. And I'd like to finally apologize to her for leaving all those empty Dr. Pepper cans and candy bar wrappers around.

The Sparky Blogger Award and the Proximidade Award are from Julie at the Cool Mom Guide and Maggie at Life With Boys . If you click on the link for Julie, you'll see a hilarious picture of her son trying ravioli for the first time. You must see this! And Maggie is an Arkansas girl with 2 boys--just like me:)

And The Motherload of All Awards is from Tena at Punky Monkey's. Tena has a great blog design that I could sit and stare at for hours. Go, stare at it for hours too.
Thank you everyone!

I've Been Boo'd!

How many times has that title shown up in your blog reader today? And I get to join in the fun! Two of my favorite bloggers gave me this blog candy today. LeAnn from Tollesons4Him and Brig from The Heckathorn Family are awesome! Thank you, ladies! Go check out their blogs. Right now!

Wait, you also need to go check out Angie's pretty purse. She made Sunny Anderson's Party Popcorn (from the Food Network) and Sunny left a comment. I'm super jealous! It makes me wonder what would happen if I actually said something nice about Nicholas Sparks...
