I'm drawing a blank on a blog post today. I asked WD what I should write about and he suggested I drum up support for Obama's healthcare plan so he can get out of the National Guard without having to worry about health insurance.
But I think I'd rather talk about makeup. You know, FUN stuff.
Makeup Alley is my favorite place on the web for makeup tips and reviews. You do have to login to use it but it's not a hassle. Want to know if NARS lipgloss is really worth the big bucks? Want to know if the kabuki brush that comes with Maybelline's mineral powder foundation holds up after cleaning? I can spend hours on this site.
I love watching Michelle Phan's makeup tutorials on youtube. She makes putting on makeup look so easy. I'm always making mistakes with my mascara wand and getting my blush uneven.
More fun stuff on the web: Hulu. During the week my tv is tuned to Spongebob, CNN, video games, and sports. So on Fridays, I park myself in front of the computer and get caught up on my favorite shows--The Office, Glee, 30 Rock, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, etc. And there's usually chocolate involved, as well. It's a good day.
And speaking of tv, I love reading the recaps on Television Without Pity. A lot of times, the recaps are even funnier than the shows.

Web Surfing Part 2
Have you read Dogblog yet? A man walks around San Francisco and takes pictures of dogs tied to benches, poles, meters, etc. Very funny. Here's another funny animal blog: F**k You Penguin. You've probably read this one before, seeing how it has almost 7000 followers. Just in case you haven't, it's about a blogger who derides animals for being so cute.
I heard about Mint.com on NPR one morning and had to try it out. I love it. It's a free budgeting website that has really helped me see where my money is going--with pie charts! You have to register, though.
Starfall is one of my favorite educational sites. It's geared toward young children learning how to read. Big pup absolutely loves the 'All About Me' section. Funbrain is another educational site where kids can play games. Click on the 'Playground' section. It's fun and free--no registering.

I had this wallpaper of Twilight on my computer for months. Then, one day, I walked by my desk and in place of Edward's smooth skin and piercing eyes was a picture of a squirrel holding a machine gun. It seems that my husband doesn't appreciate vampires like I do. We finally compromised and now have a picture of the Earth as our wallpaper.
I can't stop playing typeracer. It's free and fun and there's no setting up an account AND it's highly addictive.
This site is a must if you design your own website. Even I could understand it and that says a lot. And I love this list of html color codes. It comes in very handy.
If you don't know about Tastespotting or Foodgawker yet, you're missing out. Yum, yum, yum. Gorgeous pictures of food--with links to the recipes. I've been lucky enough to have some of my photos accepted by both sites. I've also been rejected by both sites too. (Note to Foodgawker: my chicken tacos were NOT dull OR unsharp! So there!)
I could not clean my house without listening to a few of my favorite podcasts on my iPod. Keith and the Girl is hilarious but not for kids. At all. And not for some adults either. It's profane, vulgar and offensive. But I love it. The Lost Podcast with Jay and Jack recaps episodes of Lost. And I would be lost without it. Get it? Heh. And finally, there's Public Radio International's ShortStories. Every Monday there's a new collection of short stories read by celebrities. Last week's "Indian Country" read by John Lithgow was awesomely funny and moving. Check it out if you have time.
