Lost And Not Found

Well, my wedding ring set lasted almost 13 years. Look closely at the engagement ring--see anything missing? The diamond fell out and I can't find it anywhere. I know that I lost it somewhere in the house so I've been vacuuming and vacuuming and vacuuming hoping it will show up in the canister of the vacuum cleaner. It hasn't. On the upside, though, my carpet has never been cleaner.

The way I see it I have 3 options:
1) I could have a new marquise diamond put in the ring
2) I could buy a cheaper stand-in
3) WD and I could have a second wedding complete with registry

And I think I'm leaning toward option 3 because I could really use some more towels, a food processor and a new stock pot.

  1. Oh wow, that's a pretty set! Sorry about your diamond.
I like #3 too, or renewing your vows. :)

  4. Oh no! I would just be sick. I lost one of the sidestones in my ring before, but never the center stone (mine's a marquise, too).

I vote for option 3, too! I could use some new housewares...I still have most of the stuff I got at my wedding shower...13 years ago in June!

And I agree #3 is a sweet option!

  7. Do it! Wouldn't that be sweet? I always loved the idea of renewing the vows, but my husband would say, "Why?" Be still my beating heart! ;)
Sorry your lost your diamond though -- ouch.

  9. Oh Ali, I'm so sorry. I hope you find it. I'd be upset.
On the upside, if you could do option 3 and register too, that would be sweet!

  11. I like option 3!

That happened to me. I was at work and I looked down and my diamond was gone. I had the whole office on their hands and knees while I fought off tears. I had given up and left for lunch and when I got in my car, there it was tucked on the very edge of the carpet my the car door. It could have been a inch closer and it would have been on the pavement.
