Honorary Husky

Hi.

I'm Indie.

I'm new here.

Look who showed up at my house the day before Independence Day last week. Isn't she adorable? I know, I know, I need a another dog like I need a hole in my head but I just couldn't turn her away. So for now she is renting out our front porch. I haven't introduced her to the huskies yet for a couple of reasons. One, she is covered in ticks and fleas and two, I need to brush up on my dog whispering skills to insure a peaceful introduction. So, if anyone has any suggestions on that I'd love to hear them. And, according to petplace.com, it costs $7,000-$12,000 to care for a dog throughout its lifetime SO if anyone has a spare $10,000 bill lying around I'd love to have that too. Thanks.

  2. What a sweetie! We have four pet children, and plan on adopting more when we move into a bigger place. With everyone, we just introduce them straight away. We let it play out, and only interfere when needed. That has always worked for us. They pretty much all got along right away. Now they are all lovie lovie 24/7.

  4. What a cutie! Looks like a baby Howard! I have always though that animals have a 6th sense about people! They just know who to trust and love. We had a beautiful calico cat just show up on our deck one day. She stayed. When Wriggly and Piper stayed for 10 days they got used to my cat being the boss. They all learned to tolerate each other! LOL! I haven't got a 10,000 dollar bill, but I will donate the flea and tick medication! :o)

  15. What a beautiful dog! After you get the flea/tick problem solved, I would say the best way to introduce them is to have your husband take your dogs in one car and you take the husky in another car (or vice versa), go somewhere that is neutral territory - like a dog park - and introduce them there so they can play and wear themselves out before getting back home. A lot of times, dogs do better w/ introductions when they feel they don't have to defend their territories (your house). Good luck!
