El Lagarto

Yep. I like 'em. I don't know why. Maybe because I can relate to heavy bodies with slow metabolism that are capable of slow bursts of speed? I don't know. I don't want a pet alligator, I don't want to even be near one really, but for some reason, I'm just drawn to them. The alligator has become my signature animal/reptile. My MIL is from New Zealand and you would be hard pressed to not find a kiwi bird in any given room in her house. My grandma has an owl thing going on. My sister fancies polar bears and WD likes monkeys. So.....what's your signature animal?

  2. I don't have a signature animal *panicking*...I guess I'll take the orangutan because that one in "Any Which Way But Loose" kicked ass!

  4. I have dragonflies all over...from decor to jewelry. I, however, do not like people to buy me something just because it has a dragonfly on it...I've gotten some doozies! :)

Love alligators - I do have an alligator pin!

  5. Penguins...all over. BoyBoy has "adopted" a rock hopper penguin and whenever he puts on his winter coat he always flaps his arms like a penguin...it just stuck.

  7. Well, goats, apparently. And I have no idea what the spanish term is for them, but you've inspired me to find out!

By the way, thanks so much for visiting my site when I was featured on SITS last week!

  9. I've never had one by choice. It's more like people thinking, "Hey, you have this type of animal, so surely you'll love this item." I had a white cat for many years, hence all the white cat ornaments on my tree that my mom bestowed upon me. Now we have a husky, and I've already received a few husky things from her. Come to think of it, it's all her. *sigh*

  10. I am partial to dragonflies too but you have to be careful how vocal you are about it or else they'll end up on every gift you get and will take over your entire house. :)
PS- Do you ever buy Florida Gator memorabilia?

  11. My signature animals are roosters and lions. I have lots (way too many)of ceramic roosters all over the house. And I have stone lions everywhere out in the yard.

  12. I'm loving reading about everyone's favorite animals! I am surprised that no one has mentioned frogs--they were pretty popular for awhile.

  14. When I was a teen I had a think for Unicorns. I had Unicorn everything. I've outgrown that phase and never replaced with a collectible animal even though I have such a soft spot for my cat Harley. He can do no wrong even when he does. Why??? Because he's Harley, the cat that can do no wrong even when he does.

  19. When I started thinking about it, I have a ridiculous amount of horse stuff (and I mean items! Not that other stuff people call 'horse stuff' haha). Vintage prints, figures, paintings, cards, etc, etc.

And I don't even own a horse anymore. Although I AM surrounded by them. A beautifully galloping horse will pretty much make me cry every time. Like here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8fiDk7fmG3I
