They Ate It Anyway

Look at what my poor boys had to eat yesterday. Those are supposed to be grilled cheese sandwiches.

Since Starbucks will be doing away with their peppermint mochas soon, I wanted to surf the net for copycat recipes. I already had the ingredients for a mocha, plus I had found some peppermint extract in the cabinet. I just needed to quickly check on how to make a peppermint syrup. Unfortunately, the words "quickly" and "surf the net" don't really go together.

  2. MMMMM STARBUCKS!!

They do offer the mint chocolate chip year round. I get the frappucino version and if they truly make it right it comes with chocolate whip cream and sprinkles. It taste more like a thin mint but it might get you through until next year.

  9. Bah ha ha ha! I do that ALL the time. I was making enchilada the other night and needed to melt some butter for the sauce. I stepped over to my computer for "just a sec" and returned to the stove to smoking, blackened butter. Needless to say, I had to start over.

  25. I would just go online and buy the peppermint syrup from Starbucks...I bought the gingerbread and I LOVE it. Of course it doesn't taste the same as if they make it for you!

And...my kid would just look at me like I was crazy if I tried to get him to eat that...I try to put the burnt side down, but usual dad gets that one (there is always ONE in the batch!).
