Geithner Shmeithner

A couple of months ago, Merriam-Webster announced its Word of the Year for 2008. The winner? Bailout.

Sure, it may not be as exciting as "w00t" (from 2007) or as funny as "truthiness" (from 2006) but "bailout" has its benefits. At least for me it does.

You see, I'm a huge fan of NPR. Last year, when they weren't talking about presidential candidates and the election, they were talking about bailouts. And when they do a story on a government bailout, it usually involves an interview with the Secretary of the Treasury. And I have a big audio crush on Henry Paulson. I've never seen him but I have heard him many, many times while driving Big pup to school each morning. But don't ever ask me what he's talking about. I tend to get lost in that low, gravelly voice of his. So if he doesn't look anything like Kevin Costner, I don't want to know, okay?

  3. NPR is awesome, especially when it makes you get lost with a low, gravelly voice. It's especially awesome if it can make Henry Paulson look like Kevin Costner!

  6. That's pretty funny. I have a voice crush on a guy that talks on ESPN. When my husband watches football I always make him turn the volume up when his sexy voice comes on.

Your dogs are gorgeous and I'm super jealous of the view from your back yard!

I found you through SITS and I'm glad I did! Have a great day!

  8. NPR...I love NPR. They do talk about the bailout a lot, but I like the info they give...I get way more from NPR than the newpaper or the news.

Henry Paulson does have a cool voice. He is in fact Not the most attractive man alive but there is most certainly men who are far less attractive than him.

  10. An audio crush huh? I think that pretty accurately descibes how I feel about a voice that calls a couple times a day for my boss. He is my bosses best friend from what I am told. But his voice is a dreamy figment in my over active imagination. I don't even want to know what he looks like.
