Best Book Of 2009

Happy New Year!

The past few days I've been working on my my reading journal. Not only does it help me keep track of the books that I read, but it's nice to be able to read back through my reviews to remind me of whether I liked a particular book or not. My memory. Pffft.

So out of the 13 books I read in 2009:

The Associate by John Grisham
Lamb: The Gospel According to Biff, Christ's Childhood Pal by Christopher Moore
This Just In by Bob Schieffer
The Story of Edgar Sawtelle by David Wroblewski
Wild Swans: Three Daughters of China by Jung Chang
Free Food for Millionaires by Min Jin Lee
Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen
She Got Up Off the Couch by Haven Kimmel
Snow Flower and the Secret Fan by Lisa See
Twilight by Stephanie Meyer (4 books in the series)

...the Twilight series was my favorite! And now I need to start my list for 2010 and I need some ideas. What was your favorite book that you read during 2009?

  6. Did you love "Lamb"? I laughed and cried and rethought my beliefs. Jesus was just a man, with a gift and he lived his life like no other. That book was great!

  10. Since you let me borrow your books, I don't think I've read anything that you haven't. I have to agree with you about Twilight!

I'm desperately trying to get through John Adams right now. Ready for a cheap silly romance.

A History of Love by Nicole Krauss
    Still Alice by Lisa Genova
The Guernsey Literary and Potatoe Peel Pie Sociey by Mary Ann Shaffer
Someone Knows my Name by Lawrence Hill (though the book has a different name in Canada than in the States--that's the US title)

    and of course

Then We Came to the End by Joshua Ferris, but you already know I'm a fan of it!

You should definitely join Goodreads if you're not on it. I have a Goodreads widget on my blog, if you're interested.

  16. I've read all the Mitch Albom books and got each of my kids his new one that just came out. That's the only thing on my list for this year so far.

I read a lot of non fiction. (I'm really not boring, I promise, lol)
