Can I Borrow Your Husband?

My husband left last week for a 2 week trip to Arizona--Air National Guard stuff. When he's usually gone for awhile things inevitably break down. Once it was the lawnmower, another time it was the water heater. I was expecting this time around to be the air conditioner or maybe even my van. But the first week went by smoothly and I was confident that I could get through these 2 weeks without having to fix or replace anything. But then this happened....

See that yellow light? It's supposed to be green. If it's not green then I can't plug in anything in my bathroom. The hairdryer, my flat iron, radio...nothing. Google said it should be an easy fix. Just turn off power to the gfci and remove faceplate with a small screwdriver. Remove wires paying attention to how it's set up and purchase an identical new faceplate. Match up the correct wires making sure there's no loose connections and blah, blah, blah I think I'll just use the kids' bathroom and wait until WD comes home this weekend!

  2. Something like that happens to me EVERY time. Thankfully, I have two handy neighbors and call on them frequently. I have six more days of my hubs to be gond - a lot can go wrong in that time period...I have made it through the first three and have only had to call my neighbor once!

  3. I don't think I would attempt to fix that either. As for borrowing my hubby, God love him, but you don't want him. Our kids' bathtub has been broken for 3 years. He has not fixed it yet. ugh!

  4. Yeah, I would wait too!

It's a good thing my husband is technically savvy or nothing would be working in my house... no computer...no cable...

  7. I hate when stuff goes wrong too...Dr. Hubby would be of no help unless it was medical...a handyman he is NOT!

I am having a giveaway today to celebrate 500 posts!

  9. Well I don't have a husband but I'm the daughter of an electrician. Believe it or not when I have an electrical issue in my house, me and dad talk over the phone so I can resolve it. Works out great, he's smart and I'm pretty handy. (tapping myself on the back) LOL. Seriously let me know if I can help. It seems like a really easy fix.

  10. Yeah, I'm not at a fan of taking off the face plate and playing with wires!

  11. really the thing to do is take out all the wiring that leads to the plate by carefully removing the dry wall alll along the wall to the main terminal and without turning off the power or powder removing the main terminal latch system which may include a toggle nut or two..let me know how it goes, if i don't hear from you , is there a hospital that you might be reached at?????
