The American Beautyberry

This is an American Beautyberry. It's a shrub that grows wild in the south and southeastern United States and is a good source of food for birds, deer, raccoons, possums and other wildlife. Our property is surrounded by it. And everytime I see one of these shrubs I want to break off a branch and eat it. I don't know why. Maybe because it reminds me so much of Nerds on a rope.

  1. It does look tasty. I suppose it isn't edible because you would have already tried it.
