Clipping Toenails

Little pup is okay with having his nails clipped but Big pup hates it. So after he goes to sleep, I grab the clippers, slip on the head light, and sneak into his room. Fortunately, he's a heavy sleeper so it doesn't take too long to do both his fingernails and toenails. And although I've titled this picture "Clipping Toenails," I think a more accurate title would be "The Reason They Think They Were Visited By Aliens When They Were Children."

  3. Clever mommy! It's good of you to find the less traumatic route, too. He'll love these pictures when he's older!

  4. Great picture! I really like the head light on your head. Judy is exactly right, the things we have to do for our kids. This is a picture that you will want to save and show them when they are older.

  7. That is the most hysterical thing!! I've done it too but my kids sleep with the light on so I haven't had to get the head lamp out. Haven't had my husband take a photo either - ha ha!

And Jennifer's comment about the wife brings back gross memories of my mom cutting my dad's toenails. WTF???

  8. Little Pup, on the other hand, doesn't he actually bring you the clippers asking to have his done? So different.

  10. Judy--Fortunately it wasn't about spooky aliens:)

Sue--It's one of those headlamp things you can buy in the camping section of Walmart-and I seriously have considered getting these as gifts for baby showeres!

Merrie--It's less traumatic for me too!

LeAnn--"You let the whole world see you clip toenails?" That quote would be from them as adults. And also from my mother:)

    Jenn--Great minds think alike!

Jennifer--The things I do for those boys-I really feel sorry for their wives!

    Rochelle--Your poor mom!

    Angie--He does!

Debateur--You got that right! Sometimes I have to stay up past my own bedtime just to make sure he's in a deep sleep!

  11. How funny and clever! I would be to chicken of waking my son up. Instead one of us sits on him and the other clips him...he only bleeds and screams for a few minutes. :) I am kidding, of course.

  13. Will is a light sleeper so this doesn't work, he will not let me touch his nails, he now pulls them off himself. I like the light on your forehead!

  14. Erin--That would be the exact scenario if I didn't clip them when he's asleep!

Kat--Yep, I need to start saving now for his therapy bills!

Kristen--Big pup has started chewing his fingernails so that's cut down on the work I have to do:)
