School Supplies

This whole back to school thing was shaping up to be a disaster. Big pup is starting 1st grade on Monday and hasn't been too happy about it. One night he was in tears, asking me to take him to a wishing well so he could wish that he would never have to go to school again.

But THEN he got a new backpack and lunchbox that he picked out all by himself. AND a new school box in blue--his current favorite color. He's so excited! Who knew that just $16.69 could buy a completely different attitude? And now that I know that he's okay with going back to school, I'm okay with it too.

  1. Glad big pup is now excited about going to school on Monday. My girls are getting more excited now that they know who their teachers are and that they have some of the friends in class with them. I am sad though, they are just growing up WAY TOO FAST......

  2. Him asking to go to the wishing well is about the sweetest thing I have ever heard. That had to tug at your heart. I'm glad he has had a change in his thinking. Sometimes those transitions are just a tad difficult.

  6. LeAnn--I'm REALLY hoping that his 2 best friends from Kindergarten will be his class this year.

Dawn--I'm still wondering where he got the wishing well idea from!

Judy--That boy is original isn't he?!

Renee--After him and his little brother fighting ALL day today, I'm really going to love it!

Kristen--I thought that letting him pick out his own supplies would make him more sad (remind him of school). I am so glad it had the opposite effect!

  7. Big pup and others kids, adults are all the same. When we have new stuff, it completely changes our outlook for the better. Like me for example, if I have something that is working JUST FINE - I swear to god the sun will shine brighter if I had the newer model :(
