Summertime Perks

There are so many great things about summer. Blooming flowers, fresh vegetables, kids splashing in the pool, and.....no socks to wash! I'm pretty sure that the minute my boys started wearing sandals a couple of months ago, my laundry has decreased by half. It's been so great to not have to keep up with these little things that I'm considering having them wear sandals year around. And when the temperature dips down into the teens this winter, well, we may just move to Hawaii then.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to go sort, fold, and put away 20 pairs of socks.

  1. Oh the wonderful world of socks. I don't know about you but the socks in my house always disappear, or should I say at least one of the pair do. UGHH I hate that.
But the summertime is better just for the fact we don't have to wash them Loved the post

  2. I just keep a bin of socks on top of the dryer- that's where my husband and son need to go for socks. I refuse to pair them, roll them, fold them or put them away.

  3. LOL. I should let my husband read this! We're always arguing on whether our boys should wear socks and shoes or sandals to play outside! I vote for crocs!! Hope all is well!

  4. I hear ya! I always have 2 pink socks that are 2 different shades and styles in the bottom of my basket. I swear I have tossed them out numerous times! They always reappear. I have no idea where their matches are!

  7. LeAnn--I wish the socks in my house would disappear!

    Sue--This is a great idea-for EVERYTHING that doesn't wrinkle!

    Sylvia--I second that! Crocs win!

Erin--Now that sounds very Twilight Zone-ish!

Brittany--And isn't it worse when 1 boy wears just a size bigger/smaller than the other one? That's too much work!

Jennifer--I hate it when they hide in shirts and I find them 3 days later!

  8. That brings back a lot of memories! Except for when the grandchildren come to stay, and then it is just a miniature version!
